At the Queen's Command: The First Book of the Crown Colonies
Michael A. Stackpole has written a plethora of "Star Wars" books, many of which, being the geek I am, I have read. This book, although decent, was not as good as those. It had a good plot and nice writing, but the pace was quite plodding, and the novel was a bit long. If you're a fan of "alternate history," you might like this; otherwise, I'd suggest reading something else.
