The story was amazingly written, with a lot of detail and quite a few twists and turns. It also had some funny moments; I laughed out loud when Raleigh talked about her purple car being called "The Barney Mobile." However, there also were a few moments that stuck out as being rather inappropriate for a Christian novel. There was one use of the word "hell." Now, I know that, when you're talking about hell as in the place, that it isn't profanity, but that wasn't the case here; it was used as a profanity. I'm quite surprised Thomas Nelson allowed that to be in there. What shocked me the most, though, was that there was a reference to Michael Jackson's child molestation charges. I know this book was released in 2009, so it might have been published before his death, but I would hope that the publishers had the sense to edit that afterward, because making light of something like that after the person responsible is dead is just plain wrong. If you're willing to forgive those moments, though, this one is still worth a read.
