In my review of David Ryan Long's "Ezekiel's Shadow," I said, "As a story, this was good. The one problem it had was the formatting. [...] I have another novel by David Ryan Long on my shelf; maybe it won't have that problem." Unfortunately, that proved to be a true mission: impossible, because the formatting in "Quinlin's Estate" was even worse, which made me give up on it only about a quarter into it. Some of the other reviews on here said it was worth sticking to despite its awkwardness, but I doubt it.
