Noreen Riols continues her "House of Annanbrae" series with all the emotional intensity and drama that the first two volumes had. There was, however, a problem: One climactic scene involved a plot element that I found a bit atypical for this sort of novel. I won't say what it was, as to not give away the book's ending, but, for a historical fiction epic that had been at least fairly realistic up to that point, it seemed a bit out of place. If you can forgive that scene, then this is worth reading. Now, if I could only get my hands on the final book in the series...
