Rick Riordan has once again done an excellent job of weaving an exhilarating, mythology-based tale that is full of action, intensity, and wonder. If you've read and enjoyed the "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" pentaology, then the "Heroes of Olympus" series, of which "The Son of Neptune" is the second, is definitely for you. The only complaint I have is that the Greek gods are sometimes referred to using their Roman names (Jupiter, Mars, Neptune, etc.) which can be confusing for those who love astronomy, like me. That's small potatoes, though; this novel is still worth reading.
