When I was in third grade, my teacher had an entire wall of posters about far away countries such as the United Kingdom and Japan. She also had put up this message in black cutout letters alongside them: "If you can't go...read about it!" Even though that was well over a decade ago, when I got my hands on "Love Finds You in Hershey, Pennsylvania," I was reminded of that display, and expected the novel to transport me to a place of chocolate. Unfortunately, what I got was a generic, slightly comedic romance novel that, aside from a scant few references to Hershey Park, could have just as easily taken place somewhere else. Having a kid who continually refers to herself in the third person as a main character was a bit of an annoyance, as well. Don't get me wrong; the novel was generally well-written and somewhat fun to read...but it just wasn't what I was expecting.
