Over the years, I've had varied experiences with final installments of long-running book series. There's been great ones ("Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Last Olympian,") terrible ones ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows",) and even mediocre ones ("Diagnosis Murder: The Last Word"). "Scorpia Rising" was good but not great. The plot was very involving, especially at the end, and Horowitz's writing style was great as always. However, it had too little action in the first half, and the censoring of a profanity Alex spoke was uncreatively done, not to mention unnecessary, since pretty much everyone over the age of 11 will know what was implied. To sum it up: If you've enjoyed previous "Alex Rider" novels, then you should definitely read this one.
