Fools Rush In (Weddings by Bella)

Fools Rush In (Weddings by Bella) - Janice A. Thompson My friends are probably shocked that I read something like this. Although I do read various genres of fiction, including Christian fiction, it's rare for me to read something "girly". I will admit to willingly watching and enjoying movies such as "The Princess Diaries," "Nancy Drew," "Ella Enchanted," "Leap Year," and "The Devil Wears Prada"; however, if they hadn't had such attractive female leads, I wouldn't have even have bothered with them. Still, most of what I read falls into the science fiction, fantasy, mystery and/or historical fiction genres. This book was a nice break from that. Now, for the review: The book was very well-written, quite funny at times, touching at others. I'm pretty sure that I'm not exactly the target audience for this book, but some of the things the narrator talked about I can understand. For example, having to tell someone you're not interested in a relationship? Been there. Remaining single while all your friends/family/etc. have lasting relationships, oftentimes leading to marriage? Been there, too. The only reason I didn't give it a perfect score was because of the references to the women's figures. That seemed seriously out of place in a Christian novel. I don't know if I'll read the next book in the series; I'm not sure if I need another installment of wedding mania. For one time, though, it was good.
