I thought this novel was great; it was well-written and had amazing action. The plot of this volume was somewhat similar to "Empire Strikes Back," especially with the ending. I do have to issue one caution, though: If the events of September 11, 2001 still give you nightmares, make you upset, etc., then you probably should stay away from this series. This novel in particular details mass destruction happening in New York City. The book says it was first printed in 1996, back when that kind of thing was only fiction, but I couldn't help but think of the Twin Towers being struck by planes while reading this novel. Magneto even comes off as a Osama bin Laden/Saddam Hussein-type figure. I can't help but think that the publishers would have halted publication of this book had the release date been shortly after 9/11.
