All three volumes of "The Bounty Hunter Wars" have been sitting on my shelf for a few years now, but I just got around to reading the first installment of the trilogy today. How was it? Good...but not great. The writing was wonderful, and the story quite engaging. The only problem was that the "Then" and "Now" sections were poorly labeled in more than one way. First off, since the events depicted in Lucas' space opera happened "a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away," anything involving Boba Fett and Darth Vader should not be labeled "Now," even if this book was published in 1998. Using the A.B.Y. (After the Battle of Yavin) scale would have been more appropriate. Also, the labels were easy to miss, which led to a bit of confusion. It's still a good read, though, and I recommend it to those who are "Star Wars" fans, especially if you love the character of Boba Fett as much as Karen Traviss does. (Look her up if you have no idea who she is.)
